Wendy PLOEGER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harvy POLEGER of Mount Ayr, and Joe PULLIAM, son of Mrs. Janice
WORTHINGTON of Mount Ayr, were the Mount Ayr Community high school royalty for homecoming festivities last weekend.
Dr. Bhalchandra Rambhai PATEL, most recently from Scotland, arrived Tuesday night of this week, to start
the practice of general medicine and surgery in association by Dr. Roy E. FELL of Physicians Associates, PC
in Mount Ayr.
A former Ringgold county resident and his California daughter will meet for the first time in over 40 years this
weekend. It's one of those heart-warming reunions after years of separating and it came about through the help of
Mrs. Cleo (Regina) LYNCH of Maloy and the Ringgold county sheriff's department. Mrs. LYNCH'S brother, Edward MULLIN
of Des Moines, formerly of Maloy, was reunited with his daughter, Mrs. Beverly BLAISDEL of La Mirada, CA, a town
a little south of Los Angeles.
Jerry STRAIGHT, 28, of Kellerton and Gary J. HOLLY, 34, of Mount Ayr died at the scene of a one-car accident 10
miles southwest of Creston Tuesday night, Sept. 24, according to Union County Medical Examiner, Richard WILKER.
Investigating officers from the Iowa Highway Patrol and Union County Sheriff's Department said the two suffered
fatal injuries when the car, driven by STRAIGHT, missed a corner, approaching a "Y" intersection,
struck an embankment and flipped on its top.
