Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

In the general election held November 3, all Republican candidates for county offices, except the county attorney, were elected by majorities or pluralities, ranging from one to 760 votes. George L. BARTOW, Democratic candidate for county attorney, was elected by a majority. T.W. MAPIER for county auditor; R.A. LAWHEAD, treasurer; H.S. TYRRELL, clerk of courts; C.E. THOMPSON, recorder; Dr. M.F. HANNELLY, coroner; and J.B. JOHNSTON, member of the board of supervisors, were re-elected. C.M. KING was the successful candidate for sheriff and J.N. HOOVER was elected supervisor for the term beginning next January. One of the largest, if not the largest vote ever cast in Ringgold County, was cast the total being more than three thousand.

Last Saturday evening, Gladys JACOBS entertained her Sunday school class at a Halloween party. After the guests arrived, a short business meeting was held, during which the class was organized and the following officers elected: Gladys JACOBS, president; Mary WARDRIP, vice-president; Everett WALTER, secretary; and Ray MARSH, treasurer.
