Grant Larsen, son of Deb and John Larsen, was named Arion winner at the annual Merrill Perry band concert.
Two Ringgold County youth are among more than 450 high school seniors from across Iowa who were honored recently at the fifth annual governor's Scholar Recognition Ceremony at Hy-Vee Hall in Des Moines. Representing Diagonal was Nicole Goodale while Brian Inloes represented Mount Ayr Community High School.
Alexis Johnson, a senior at Mount Ayr Community High School, has been awarded at $2,000 scholarship from the Grand Lodge of Iowa, Ancient Free and Acepted Masons.
The annual Ringgold Singers Spring Concert will have a theme of "Tuning in the Radio" for the program this year.
The Mount Ayr Community sixth grade Math Bee team placed second in the Area 14 Math Bee competition.
With the month of May comes new increses in the price of postage through the United States Postage Service, according to Mount Ayr postmaster David Richards.
