Neighbors and friends went Saturday morning to the Howard SMITH farm in Middle Fork township and picked corn for Mr.
SMITH, who is a patient in the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines.
Junior DREDGE escaped serious injury Friday afternoon when a tractor overturned with him about 12 o'clock while working
in the timber on a farm in Washington township. He was found about 3:30 o'clock by his nine-year-old son, Duane, who
summoned Mr. and Mrs. Clarence MORRISON, Paul and Jim EASON and John BUCK. Mr. DREDGE was freed from the overturned tractor
and the EASONS took him to the Ringgold County Hospital, where he was treated for leg injuries and remained a patient
until Sunday. Mr. DREDGE said the accident happened when his foot slipped off the clutch.
Glen MOON, who is employed by the McCullough Motor Company in Mount Ayr, suffered back injuries Monday morning about
11:30 a.m. whne a company car he was driving went out of control when he attempted to avoid a collison with a gravel
truck at the crest of a hill one mile north of Beaconsfield. He suffered a cracked vertebrae, a fractured rib and cartilage
torn loose in his chest.
Officers re-elected for the Ringgold County Fair Association were John D. WARIN, president; John IRVING, vice-president;
and W. T. TIMBY, secretary-treasurer.
