RETOLD OLD NEWS

Mount Ayr Record-News
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa
Thursday, August 03, 1989

Kasey Dredge, Mount Ayr Record-News

Jim PEDERSEN of Mount Ayr was sworn into office Tuesday, August 1, for a four-year term by Ringgold County Clerk of Court Rollin NOBLE. PEDERSEN was named as magistrate for the new term, replacing Bob ROE, who had served in the office for six and one half years.

The Ayr Days celebration will begin Friday, September 8, with bagpipe bargains at participating Mount Ayr merchants and the opening of the new Ringgold Hall of Antiques, Collectiable and Historical Memorabilia, which will be open for three days to display items from the past.

Two Mount Ayr men, Ron SICKELS and Gary KLEJCH, were among the hordes of people that participated in the 1989 edition of RAGBRAI. The trip began in Glenwood Sunday, July 23, and ended last Saturday in Bellevue.
