The most Mount Ayr FFA chapter members to receive their American FFA degrees in one year were honored at the national
FFA convention in Louisville, KY this past week. The American FFA degrees were presented to John TIDMAN, Reggie
DERSCHEID and Tim CREVELING as on of the highlights of the trip to the national convention by local chapter members.
With the three new honorees, the Mount Ayr Community high school chapter has 33 American FFA degree recipients. A total
of 10 high school students and chapter advisor Jack COOK, along with the American FFA degree recipients and their
families, participated in the convention events.
Between June 30 and October 9, Patricia COLE of Mount Ayr was the Iowa Lottery's biggest lotto winner in Ringgold
county, winning $5,000 in the Powerball game. Lynn's Texaco Food Mart was Ringgold county's hottest Iowa Lottery
retailer. Lottery players were paid more than $5,000 in prizes at this retail center>
A Mount Ayr Community high school eighth grader has been selected to pay in the Southwest Iowa Honor Band for junior
high students. Katie WEDDLE, daughter of Dr. Dan and Kristie WEDDLE of Mount Ayr, will be playing the clarinet with
the eighth grade honor band this year.
