Mount Ayr is to have a winning ball team this season. Ace HARGIS, who has played with the team for two seasons and has been offered salaried
positions with some of the best teams in this part of the state this season, consented to take the management. Earl NEWTON
was elected captain and Clare G. ALLY, secretary, treasurer.
The new creamery has now enrolled 125 patrons and the management is exceedingly gratified at the showing made so far.
The first shipment of butter was made Wednesday of last week and amounted to 20 tubs containing about 63 pounds each.
Loren LAUGHLIN, whose rank as a student in the graduating class of the Mount Ayr High School won for him
a scholarship at Drake University, left this morning for Des Moines, where he will take a business course in the Captial
Commercial College. He will enter Drake University with the opening of the fall term.
