Four Ringgold county persons escaped serious injury in a Jeep pickiup-car accident, which happened Friday afternoon on the Tingley-Ellston road. They were
Mrs. David HILL and daughter, Betty, and Doris GILES of Tingley, all of whom were occupants of the HILLS' Mercury, and Bob TOLAND, driver of the Jeep
pickup owned by the Iowa Southern Utilities Company. Betty HILL suffered the loss of a front tooth and her mother received leg cuts. Mr. TOLAND had been
working on the Iowa Southern lines along the Ellston-Tingley road and in backing from his parking to the road, the Jeep collided with the HILL car.
Mrs. Cyril Dean GREENE as elected president of the Mount Ayr High School Alumni Association at the annual cooperative dinner served Friday evening at
the schoolhouse in Mount Ayr. Other officers elected were Bob DRAKE, vice president, and Miss Mari REES, secretary and treasurer. Mrs. Rupert JOHNSTON was
named kitchen hostess and Mrs. Elbert STRANGE was selected as dining room hostess.
Births reported at Ringgold County Hospital this week:
A son, Tyler Merton, born Dec. 28, to Mr. and Mrs. Merton KNAPP, Redding.
A daughter, Carol Elaine, to Mr. and Mrs. Raymond UMBARGER, Mount Ayr.
