A former Ringgold county resident is turning 105 on December 12 and a card shower is being held for Maude BURCHETT of
Cantonsville, MD. Maude Ida GREENMAN was born in 1894 in Athens township at the farm home of Edward and
Ida GREENMAN. She married Charles Wilson BURCHETT, brother of Lavon THOMAS of Mount Ayr on December 4, 1919, and she
and her husband were managers and then owners of the Caledonia Store.
The community of Tingley was featured in a recent story inthe Atlantic News Telegraph. "Tingley store
keeps rolling along" was the story by Maxine CHRISTENSEN which included pictures of Mary Sue McINTOSH on the
job at the Tingley grocery store and the memorial for the site of the BRECKENRIDGE Store. Background of the
town of Tingley and history of the grocery store there were shared in the article.
