The circus is coming! And a free circus at that. Ridiculous Days in Mount Ayr will be bigger than ever in 1966 with the addition of a free circus.
A racing car went out of control Friday night during the regularly scheduled races on the local speedway, careened into a pit and injured Hank Smith and Mac Cross.
Five persons were injured Thursday morning in a car-station wagon collision on Highway 259, at the west edge of Tingley.
Charles Meacham, manager of the local telephone company since 1960, has been promoted to the position of manager of the Mount Ayr district with management responsibilities for 14 exchanges.
Wayne D. Peterson of Mount Ayr, a member of the Iowa Highway Patrol for the last five years, and recent assignee to the position of pilot of a highway patrol plane from the Des Moines Municipal Airport,
assumed his duties today.
