Four persons escaped injury Saturday night about 8:30 p.m. when two autos collided at the north entrance to the
skating rink on Highways Nos. 2 and 169 in Mount Ayr. Involved in the accident was a Dodge car, occupied by Mr. and
Mrs. Harry GODDEN of Kellerton and drive by Mrs. GODDEN, and a Packard driven by Clifford D. LYNCH of Omaha, NE and occupied
by her nephew. LYNCH drove his car out of the skating rink entrance onto the pavement and started to turn west just as the
GODDENS approached from the east. After the cars collided, the GODDEN car swerved to the right, went over a steep embankment and
alighthed in an upright position after taking out a corner post and fence on the Jim WHITE property. The right door of
the Packard was caved in and the left front fender and light and front part of the frame on the Dodge was damaged to the
extent of $300.
Eight head of mules, owned by John IRVING of Washington township, were among the best exhibited at the Iowa State Fair.
