by Chanse Hall, Mount Ayr Record-News

The junior class of the Mount Ayr High School will present the three-act farce, "Her Gloves," on February 4. Members of the cast are Frank Keating, Raymond Hickerson, John Poore, X. T. Prentis, Clive Ketch, Irene Williams, Susie Timby, Ruth Flynn, Stella Wright and Reba Roberts.

DIAGONAL - A deal was made Wednesday whereby Elmer H. Rapp, of Shannon City, and G. T. Myers of Arispe, became owners of the Arcade Restaurant, which was owned by A. B. Kenyon, who gave possession at once.

A very pretty home wedding occurred January 26, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Y. Byerly, of our city, when their daughter, Elva, was united in marriage to Glen Prentis, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Prentis, of Maloy. The words which made these young people one were spoken by Rev. Chas. M. Edmondson of the Methodist Church of Diagonal. For the present they will remain at the home of the bride's parents.

Dr. Chas. W. Barnes, who has been living in Marion, Ohio, came last week and will take up his practice here in partnership with Dr. McPheeters.

Margaret Beard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Beard, of this city, has secured a position as junior supervisor with the Redpath-Vawter Chautauqua System for the coming season.

H. C. Beard, who has served as city attorney since appointment of Homer A. Fuller as mayor of Mount Ayr, has tendered his resignation to the city council and the same was accepted.
