Postmaster B. B. DOLECHECK, of Diagonal, has announced that he expects to retire from the office on January 1, 1941, and will afterwards devote his time
to farming. Mr. DOLECHECK has been postmaster at Diagonal for the past six years, having gone into the office on July 31, 1934.
William N. GRIMES, junior high instructor in the local schools for five years, has been released from his contract to accept a position as junior high
instructor in the Spencer schools under the superintendency of W. F. JOHNSON, former superintendent of the Mount Ayr and Harlan schools.
At Maryville, Missori on July 23, occurred the marriage of Gerata MOON, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James MOON, of Kellerton, to Arthur MOSBARGER,
son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. MOSBARGER, also of Kellerton. Rev. BENNETT, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated. The young couple will be at
home near Kellerton, where Mr. MOSBARGER is engaged in farming an serves as assistant mail carrier.
BIRTHS
REDDING - Mr. and Mrs. H. L. COMBS are the proud parents of a nine-pound baby boy, born July 19. He will be known as Carl Edmond COMBS.
A daughter, Ellen Kay, was born July 30, to Mr. and Mrs. Franklin SPURRIER, in the Greater Community Hospital in Creston. She is welcomed
in the home by a sister, Ann.
