REDDING FAMILY HAS FIVE IN ARMY
Five sons of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. THOMPSON who were reared and attended school here [Redding] are in the Army. Cpl.
Howard, military police, is in Italy. After service three years in the Army previoulsy, he enlisted shortly after
Pearl Harbor. Between "hitches" he had been in the oil business at Eagleville, Missouri.
PFC Russell, with the 5th Army in Italy, enlisted in June, 1942. His wife lives at Blackfoot, Idaho.
Staff Sgt. Kenneth Arthur THOMPSON, infantry, entered the Army in the summer of 1942 and is at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His
wife lives near there. [Kenneth was born April 30, 1912, Redding, Iowa, and died February 25, 2000, Seattle, King County, Washington.]
PFC Homer THOMPSON, Camp Barkley, Texas, entered the service in July, 1944, after graduating from
Redding High School and college and taught three years at Barnes City. He was working in Cedar Rapids war plant when
inducted. His wife and three children live at Wyoming, Iowa.
PVT. Duane, who entered the service a month after Homer, is in the European war zone.
