F. B. [FERDINAND BOLIVER] SOLES

F. B. SOLES was born September 13, 1845, Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of E. L. and Elizabeth SOLES. He enlised as a Private on August 15, 1861 with Company G of the 4th Iowa Infantry, and was promoted to full Corporal on July 1, 1865. F. B. was mustered out at Louisville, Kentucky, on July 24, 1865.

F.B. married Alice Melcina LORIMOR on December 25, 1866, Ringgold County, Iowa. They were the parents of five known children:
Elizabeth Eleanor (SOLES) HAYES, 1867-1944
Iva Maude (SOLES) SHROYER, 1870-1954
Lota Izora (SOLES) DRAPER, 1873-1959
James Ferdinand SOLES, 1876-1945
Thalia Edith (SOLES) ENDSLEY, 1878, 1955

Alice Melcina (LORIMOR) SOLES, born August 3, 1848, Barlow, Ohio, died at the age of 69 years on July 20, 1919, Mount Ayr, Iowa. F. B. died at Long Beach, California, at the age of 87 years on August 22, 1933. Alice and F. B. were interred at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
