ANDRUS C. COMSTOCK

Civil War Flags.jpg Andrus C. COMSTOCK was born on November 27, 1834, Cattaraugus County, New York, where he resided until he was twenty-one-years-old. A farmer, he moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, April 1st, 1855. With the outbreak of the Civil War, Andrus enlisted as a Private from Springvale, Wisconsin on August 15, 1892, and was assigned to Company B of the 32nd Wisconsin Infantry Volunteers, serving with the Army of the Cumberland. He was mustered out of field duty at Decatur, Alabama on June 8, 1865.

Andrus married first on November 2, 1854 to Miss Ester R. WAITE. After Ester's death, Andrus married second on July 12, 1868 to Miss Sylvia GEE at Redding, Ringgold County, Iowa. Andrus and Sylvia were the parents of four children: Lillie B., Ollie P., Leonora, and Archie. Andrus was a member of the K. of L. and Pollock Post G.A.R. He died February 5, 1913, Marion County, Kansas, where he was interred.
