RICHARD BELL

Richard BELL, the eldest son of Pauline (LONG) BELL WHEELEN, enlisted in the U.S. Army on March 6th of 1964. He was assigned to Abilene, Texas from June, 1964 to August, 1965, then reassigned to Anchorage, Alaska where he was attached to the Nike-Hercules defensive Missles effort. Richard was awarded the Sharpshooter badge (M-14) and National Defense Service Medal. He had earned the rank of Spec 4 when he was discharged from his duties on February 20, 1967.
