Legion Auxiliary celebrated the American Legion's 96th birthday Tuesday evening with a soup supper and a presentation of a check to the Legion.

Members include (L-R) Marla Crawford, Leota (Pinky) Collins, Lola Link, Commander John Thorpe, Thelma Rusk, Jeanette Lutrick, Wanda McGahuey and Charlene Ford.

At the supper principal Lynne Wallace from the Mount Ayr Community High School talked to the group about the upcoming election and the need to upgrade heating, cooling and air quality of the high school. The auditorium renovation project was also discussed. As a result the Auxiliary purchased six seats for the auditorium renovation in the Legion Family name.
