UNKNOWN PHOTOGRAPHS
Maxwell Photographic Studio, Mount Ayr, Iowa
Kimble DaCosta writes from Chino, California:
I have three unknown photo's that were taken at Maxwell's in Mt. Ayr, Iowa. I am hoping that you can post them on your
website to see if anyone reconize them. The three photo's were all found in the Friend Family Album, some of the names
associated with the Friend Family are: Martin, Wilcox, Seamands, Smalley, McCoy, Nethken, Rowlett, McConnell, Hawlery,
Elliott, Bailey, Pfeiffer, Merrick, Browning, Brown.
I aquired these photo's about two years ago with hundreds more when a chest owned by my grandmother, (Mabel Clair (Friend) Martin) and her mother before her, (Ella Francis (Seamands) Friend) was given to me. Slowly but surely I am getting names to go with pictures, and I'm loving every bit of information I am finding. I know that our family has passed through your area in the past. A Freeman Friend left Maryland and moved to your area just prior to the Civil War, he then moved to Bethany, Missouri. But to be honest, I have no idea if these photo's are linked to him. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that someone will know something.
I hope some of this information will help in finding out who these people are.
