MALOY, IOWA CENTENNIAL HISTORY: 1887 - 1987

WANDA and MARTIN HINTZ FAMILY

The Martin HINTZ family moved to Maloy in July, 1981, having purchase the property of Rose, Mary and Anna WARIN.

Martin is District Conservationist with the Soil Conservation Service, USDA, and Wanda is employed at the Mount Ayr branch of First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Creston.

They have three sons. Robert, a graduate of SWCC in Creston, is employed in south central Iowa. Rodney has B.S. and Master's Degrees in ag-related fields from Iowa State University in Ames and is presently working on his doctorate at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Roger is attending Iowa State University in the college of agriculture.

Martin was appointed to serve on the Maloy city council in 1981 and then was appointed mayor in 1986 to complete the term of John D. WARIN, who had died in March of that year.
