Franklin and Adaline (HARTLEY) SEATON
Adaline was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania on July 13, 1837, the daughter of Samuel and Elizabeth (HAMMERS)
HARTLEY. She was Franklin's second wife and they married on March 16, 1867 in Pennsylvania. Adaline died on September
17, 1924. Franklin was born in 1832, Greene County, Pennsylvania, the son of Thomas Prather and Elizabeth (BROWN)
SEATON. A shoemaker, Franklin married first in 1855 to
Lydia M. EVANS and they were the parents of Anna M., William Taylor (1856-1921), Thomas Parson, and George B. SEATON (1860-1925).
Adaline and Franklin were interred at Forest Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
Franklin and Adaline (HARTLEY) SEATON came to Ringgold County, Iowa, with a large migration in the spring of 1875, settling near Maloy. They
moved to Delphos in 1879. Franklin was Delphos' second postmaster. He owned and operated a store where the Delphos
School was later located.
Thomas Parson SEATON, the son of Franklin and Lydia (EVANS) SEATON, was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania, on
September 20, 1859, and died March 22, 1902, Ringgold County, Iowa. Thomas and his wife Elizabeth J. (OSBORNE) (1869-1933)
were interred at Forest Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa. Thomas and Elizabeth were the parents of Harry (ca. 1882-?),
Earl (ca. 1884-?), Sylvia (ca. 1886-?), Bessie (ca. 1887-?), Frank L. (1889-1939) a WWI veteran, Lila (ca. 1891-?), Taylor
(ca. 1893-?), Fern
Franklin and Adaline were the parents of Samuel H., Benjamin F., Hugh K., and Elizabeth SEATON.
Samuel and Addie (BENNETT) SEATON
Samuel Hartley SEATON, the son of Franklin and Adaline SEATON, was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania, on June 15, 1870,
and died in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, on February 19, 1953. He married on July 3, 1900, Ringgold County, Iowa, to
Sarah Adelaide "Addie" BENNETT Sarah Adelaide "Addie" (BENNETT) SEATON was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, on October 8,
1871, the daughter of Edwin BENNETT. She died in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, on May 17, 1952.
Samuel and Addie were interred at Forest Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa. They were the parents of Clay Webster
SEATON.
Myrna (MORSE) and Clay Webster SEATON
Clay Webster SEATON, son of Samuel Hartley and Sarah Adelaide "Addie" (BENNETT) SEATON, was born November 22, 1911, Redding,
Ringgold County, Iowa, and died in June 24, 1999, Austin, Travis County, Texas,
with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. Clay married in 1941, Creston, Iowa, to Myrna M.
MORSE, the daughter of Robert MORSE. Clay served during World War II as a TECH5 with the U.S. Army.
Elizabeth Leona SEATON, the daughter of Franklin and Adaline (HARTLEY) SEATON, was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania,
on September 9, 1872. She died at the age of 29 on January 5, 1902, Ringgold County, Iowa, and was interred at Forest
Home Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.

Ben, Orr, and Fannie SEATON
Benjamin Franklin "Ben" SEATON, son of Franklin and Adaline (HARTLEY) SEATON, was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania,
on October 15, 1874, and died in Ringgold County, Iowa, on December 7. 1959, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery,
Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa. He married on November 28, 1900 to Fannie Elizabeth STEDMAN, and they were the
parents of two sons.
Hugh Keenan and Nettie (OMER) SEATON
Hugh Keenan SEATON, the son of Franklin and Adaline (HARTLEY) SEATON, was born in Ringgold County, Iowa, on July 28, 1876,
and died November 28, 1964, Delphos, Ringgold County, Iowa, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Ringgold
County, Iowa. He married on October 17, 1917 to Nettie Mae OMER, and they were the parents of three children.
