Marshall Barker
Marshall married Guelda STAMPER SHRIMPTON, and with her son, Jerry, they moved to the Earl WEST farm. He worked with Earl
for a number of years, and then moved to a farm near Mount Ayr, where they now reside. To this family was born two
daughters, Marlys Jeanne and Janet Lynn. (Marshall is now Ringgold County Assessor.)
Jerry married Jean POTTORFF, and to this union was born a daughter,Karmen Renee, and a son, Darrel Gene. For twenty plus
years, Jerry has worked for the Blue Bird Bus Company at Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the city in which they reside. Jean works
as a medical secretary in a doctor's office.
Karmen married David SMITH of New London, Iowa, where they reside. They are the
parents of a son, Bradyn Lee, and a daughter, Lindsay marie. Karmen
insurance business. Darrel is a high school student.
Marlys married Charles MEACHAM, Jr., and moved to Tucson, Arizona. She works as a secretary in a real estate firm.
Charles is in his own business as a taxidermist.
Janet is married to James KNEDLER, residing in Centerville, Iowa,
and they are the parents of sons: Kelley Rae, Cory Shawn, and Brent. All are students in school. Janet works as a
secretary for an optometrist and is a part-time beauty operator. Jim's work is with a development business.
