After high school, Lawrence traveled to California and went to work inthe orange groves. He was owner and manager of several orange groves until his death in 1985.

Lawrence and his wife Josephine were the parents Larry, the oldest, and his wife, Helene, had a son, Robert, deceased, and a daughter, Donna. Harry and his wife Bev, have a son, Derrick, and a daughter, Lorrie. Dennis is deceased.
