Larry Dean BOWEN was born May 17, 1947, at Benton, Iowa, the son of James and Ruby BOWEN. He attended school in Benton through the sixth grade, attended Maloy and Delphos in the seventh and eighth grades, and graduated from Mount Ayr Community High School in 1965.

In September of 1966, Larry was drafted to serve in the Army. He served a year in Vietnam, and then was stationed in the United States until he was discharged in Sepetember of 1968. In March of 1971, he started to work for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, where he is still employed.

On October 21, 1971, Larry was married to Sharon PINKERTON of Delphos.

Sharon was born October 5, 1948, to Mr. and Mrs. Eldon PINKERTON in Creston, Iowa. Sharon has one sister, Judy PICKER, of Glenwood, Iowa. In 1953, she moved to Delphos when her mother married Arthur STEINMAN. She attended school in Delphos through the seventh grade, graduted from eighth grade in Rerdding, and completed her high school education in Mount Ayr, graduating in 1966. Sharon worked at Hy-Vee for seventeen years and is currently employed at Horne's Pharmacy in Mount Ayr.

Larry and Sharon have three children: Judd Corbley, born February 21, 1973; Eric Dean, born July 17, 1974; and Austin Jay, born January 22, 1979.
