The Haley-Gaines Family
Harry HALEY, the son of Arthur and Venita GAINES HALEY, was born [August 9, 1926] at the edge of Benton by the railroad which is now
the NICKLES place. He went to school in Benton until 1940, at which time he moved north of Benton, then on to north of
Diagonal in 1942, and finally to Shannon City in 1944. On September 2, 1945, he married Ruth ROUDYBUSH and they lived
south of Shannon City for twelve years, then moved to northeast of Diagonal and lived there twenty-five years. In 1983,
they moved to Afton where they now own and operate the Unicorn Inn Cafe.

Ronnie KING) of Joplin, Missouri; Janice (husband, Vince GAETA) of Letts; Jeffery (wife, Janet SHUM) of Creston; Jean
(husband, Ted MOFFITT) of Johnston; Joe of Afton; J.B. of Des Moines; Jack (wife, Tina SOBOTKA) of Tingley; and Janelle
(husband, Duane SCHAFER) of Mount Ayr; and sixteen grandchildren.
NOTE: Harry HALEY was born August 9, 1926 and died on May 29, 2005. Ruth A. (ROUDYBUSH) HALEY was born June 16, 1928 and
died December 13, 1998. They were interred at Marshalltown Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
