The Cole Family
Lloyd and Blanche COLE were married in Mount Ayr, Iowa, on February 6, 1915, and made their home in Lamoni, Iowa. They
were blessed with six children. Darrell was born in Lamoni and now lives in Carson City, Nevada. He has three married
daughters, eight grandchildren, and two great-granddaughters. Lloyd and Blanch moved to Wyoming where Forest and Bob
were born. Forest lives in Lakewood, Ohio, and has one son. Bob lives in Tampa, Florida, and has two married children.
Lloyd and Blanche moved back to Lamoni, where Keith and Ruth were born. Keith now lives in Mount Ayr and has two married
sons, two granddaughters and one grandbaby on the way. Keith was in a partnership with Joe DALTON in the Benton gas
station; in 1948, he purchased Joe's half of the business. That same year he was married to Betty JOHNSTON, and they
established their home in Benton, where he ran the station. Ruth now lives in Lebanon, Missouri, and has three married
children.
Lloyd and Blanche moved to Rice Township,
two married children and six grandchildren. Lloyd and Blanche moved to Benton in 1937, to the first house south of the
station. All of their children, except Bonnie, graduated from Benton school. Blanche died May 7, 1972, and Lloyd passed
away February 3, 1985.
