Benton Centennial
1887 - Benton, Iowa - 1987

The Albert Page Family

Albert PAGE was the oldest son of William and Evalina ZIKE Page, born on August 18, 1883. His family included two other boys, Amaziah and Clarence, and one girl, Mable. Two other children, a boy and a girl, died in ifancy. The family lived in the Benton, Maloy and Blockton communities. William PAGE died in the year 1895. In 1901, Evalina married a man named KUHNS. Late in the year of 1901, Evalina suffered an accident which left her children alone. The boys looked after themselves, working at various places as farm helpers. Their sister, Mable, was cared Albert married Anna McCOOPER on December 28, 1904. They spent their early married life in the Maloy and Blockton communites. About 1915, they moved to a farm near Clearfield, later moving to Benton in 1921. Their family included three boys: Harold, Albert, and Billy; and three daughters: Florence, Callista, and Gretta. Anna died after a very long illness on January 16, 1934 [interment at Benton Cemetery].

Florence married Clarence DAILEY in December of 1922. Their family included two sons, George and John, and two daughters, Lucy and Mary. They also had a son who died in infancy. Callista married John JACKSON of Creston, Iowa. They had two sons, Harold C. and Albert E. Gretta married Earl FLETCHALL in December of 1929. They had a family of four girls: Leota, Phyllis, Kay, and Glenda; and one son, Cecil. Albert married Gen ADAMS. They had one son, James, and a daughter, Anna. They have three grandsons. Harold married Ruth SCHLAPIA in June of 1931. Billy married Darlene GILDSIG of Creston, Iowa, in June of 1950. They had two daughters, Linda and Ruthie. They have six grandchildren.

Albert Sr., Evalina, Anna, Clarence and Florence, Callista, Earl FLETCHALL, and Harold are all deceased as of 1986.

NOTE: Martha "Evaline" (ZIKE) PAGE was born in Freetown, Indiana on October 17, 1866, and died August 21, 1901.

Albert Roy PAGE was born in Blockton on August 18, 1883, and died in November of 1975.

Albert Milton PAGE was born on April 25, 1914, and died in 1987. His wife, Genevieve Carmeta (ADAMS) was born in Harrison County, Missouri on April 13, 1920, and died in February of 2007.

They were all interred at Benton Cemetery.
