OBITUARY ~ TAYLOR REUNION
On Sunday, June 29, 2004, descendants of James R. and Nellie M. TAYLOR gathered at the Diagonal Community Building for
their annual family reunion. A cooperative potluck meal was enjoyed by all with plenty to eat. Much visiting, story
telling and picture taking was done during the afternoon. Some of the younger ones played ball and games outdoors.
Velma was the leader and Alex JONES the youngest. There were three marriages and four birth last year with three of
the new babies present; Alex, five-months; Evan BRUCE, 10-months; and Brittlyn TAYLOR, 11-months. Brad VARNER had
traveled the furthest. Floyd and Leona's family had the most members present with all of Dick's family and Judy's
family present. There were 122 present for the enjoyable day. Judy was preented with an engraved "rock"; as keeper of
the nuts and recognized for keeping the family history up to date. Those present were: Harold's family:

Tracey of Saint Joseph, MO. Verla's family: Verla Dean TAYLOR of Mount Ayr; Brad VARNER and Anna BUCHANAN of
Sauk Village, IL; Jan and Jerry SLAYBAUGH of Independence, MO; Bobbi Jo BARTLES, Taylor and Tyson BANKS, Tanner
and Trey WHITE of Clarinda. Two guests were Maxine NORRIS of Creston and Annabell T. W. WALKUP of Redding. Saturday,
June 28 golf was enjoyed by 20 ladies at Lenox Country Club and 31 men at Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club. They enjoyed
lunch togther at the Mount Ayr club around noon. Some continued to golf in the afternoon. Those who were present on
Saturday were: Gary and Jennie TAYLOR of Springfield, IL; Steve and Corie TAYLOR of Kansas City; Jim LINKEY of Kansas
City, MO; Barry and Katie JONES, Megan and Anna of Des Moines; Todd JONES of Greenfield; Tanner RINEHART of Mount
Ayr. Karaoke was enjoyed by many at Revie's later on Saturday evening. The family plans to meet again next
year the last weekend of June.
