The new Fairview Church in the Davenport and Bliss area is being built as fast as possible and will be finished before
winter. But of all things that the people rejoice over is the erection and completion of the M.E. Church at this place.

Fairview Methodist Episcopal Church was located in the west-central portion of section 11, Lincoln Township, one mile
south of the Polen post office. Polen, now a ghost town, was located near the Ringgold County/Union County border.
Reverend L. B. CAMPBELL was the minister in 1894.
The Polen post office opened in 1891 and closed in 1901.
