METHODIST CHURCH
Ringgold City, Lotts Creek Township, Ringgold County, Iowa
Jacob and Mary B. CASE were Methodists and were very religious, holding religious meetings in their home. Their daughter,
Maria (CASE) McANINCH joined the church when she was around the age of thirteen years. Charles P. BENNETT noted in his list of "Historic Religious
Sites of Ringgold County: Abandoned Rural and Ghost Town Churches" that the only known church which existed in Ringgold
City was the Evangelical church. It is quite possible that the congregation of the Methodist Church at Ringgold City
met in homes or at the school, as was the custom when the congregation lacked funds to build a house of worship.
