PATRICK CEMETERY

Riley Township, Ringgold County, Iowa

patrick sign
Photograph by Sharon R. Becker, May of 2009

Patrick Cemetery is located in Riley Township of Ringgold County [NE1/4 Sec 22], in a field. It is north of the Iowa- Missouri Border, approximately 1 mile south of the intersection of county roads 310th Street and 320th Avenue.

The passage of time has not been kind to this cemetery. Some of the gravestones have toppled over and/or are broken and stacked in piles. At one time, cattle wandered through the cemetery which has caused more damage to some of the gravestones. There probably are several unmarked gravesites since some of the gravestones were not repaired and or replaced. Other gravestones have been displaced.

Patrick cemetery was recorded for Ringgold County Historical Society by Betty Ruby and Ruth Haley of Diagonal in 1981; transcriptions updated February of 2010 by Sharon R. Becker. Veteran information updated May of 2015 courtesy of Cathy Kilgore, Ringgold County Veteran Affairs; plot location from Raymond Banner's book, Cemetery Gravestone Recordings of Ringgold County.
