Clearfield Cemetery was established in 1882. It is located north out of the town of Clearfield on Tay-Gold Avenue, then east approximately 2 miles on County Road J-23.

Esther Stephens, Pat O'Dell, and Helen Hanson recorded the cemetery for Taylor county. Their transcriptions were included in Supplement to Tombstone Records of Taylor County, Iowa." Betty Ruby and Ruth Haley of Diagonal recorded the cemetery for the Ringgold County Historical Society in November of 1982. Cemetery transcription updated by by Sharon R. Becker in November, 2009 and June of 2012. Tony Mercer diligently photographed the gravestones for us in the spring of 2013.
