Lester SICKELS, Representative from Ringgold County, Iowa, was born on a farm near Grant City, Worth County, Missouri. He received his education in the Taylor and Ringgold Counties public schools. Lester married Dorothy SNETHEN of Mount Ayr on February 22, 1930, and the couple were the parents of three children: Geraldine, Gayle, and Dan. The SICKELS resided near Kellerton where Lester owned and operated a farm. Lester was a member of the Lions Club, I.O.O.F., and Farm Bureau. He served on the local school board for six years and on the Ringgold County board of education for thirteen years. A Republican, Lester was elected to as a Representative to the Iowa General Assembly in 1958.
