Robert N. & Chloe ROBERTSON February 20, 1901
Robert N. ROBERTSON came to Union County with his parents, Ralph [Edward] and Nancy [Jane (ALLEN)] ROBERTSON, from
Columbia City, Iowa in 1886 at the age of six years. He lived with his parents and three sisters on a farm two and
one-half miles south of Arispe, now the Harold SELIM farm.
Chloe PITKIN was born in January 1879 near Grove Chapel, one of eleven children, to Frank and Rose [Ellen (JOY)] PITKIN.
She spent her life in Union County, with the exception of two years in Ringgold County.
Robert and Chloe were married February 20, 1901 [Shannon City, Iowa]. They purchased a farm two miles south of Arispe where they lived and
farmed for forty-seven years. Robert served two terms as Union County supervisor, several years as township clerk, and
was a member of the Arispe School Board. Chloe was a long time active member in the W.S.C.S. of the Arispe Methodist
Church. They retired and moved to Arispe in 1947, where they lived until 1964, when because of failing health they
moved to an apartment in Afton. Robert passed away in September 1965 and Chloe in August 1970.
Earl and Louise ROBERTSON, 1921
They had one son, Earl. Earl and Louise BERRY, daughter of Elijah and Olive BERRY, were married in 1921. They moved
to the home farm in 1947 when his parents moved to Arispe. They farmed there until 1969 when health problems forced
their retirement. They purchased a home in Creston where they lived until 1981 when they moved to Regency Park,
Creston, where Earl now resides. Louise passed away suddenly October 8, 1984.
Earl and Louise had one daughter, Doris, married to Billy NEALIS and now living in North Edwards, California. They
have a daughter, Cheryl, of Huntington Beach, California and a son, Gary, in Redondo Beach, California.
Chloe and Robert were interred at Oakland Cemetery south of Shannon City, Iowa.
