PETER LININGER
Peter LININGER was born May 27, 1834, Mercer County, Pennsylvania, the son of Daniel LININGER (1809-1867)
and Catherine (KLINGENSMITH) LININGER (1806-1868). Peter settled in what would become Lincoln Township in 1855. He was a farmer and a carpenter. In 1859, Peter
build Ringgold County's frame courthouse. Peter raised a large family and was a good citizen. Peter and Margaret
COCHRAN were married December 20, 1860.
Margaret (COCHRAN) LININGER was born on September 13, 1839, Madison County, Indiana, and died on May 30, 1886.
Peter died at the age of 60 years and 8 months on February 4, 1895. Peter and Margaret were interred at Morgan Cemetery three miles
south of Kent, Union County, Iowa.
Peter and Margaret were the parents of three known children:
1) Laura LININGER, b. 28 May 1861, Ringgold Co. IA; d. Sep 1934; married Charles SMITH (1859-1959)
2) Mildred LININGER, b. 28 Aug 1862, Ringgold Co. IA; married Martin SMITH (1860-1929
3) Fidella "Della" LININGER, b. 02 Jul 1866, Ringgold Co. IA; married Amos SMITH

NOTE: Catherine and Daniel LININGER, Peter's parents, were interred at Bruning
Cemetery, Union County, Iowa.
