JACK FETTY
Jack FETTY was born in a farm house near Diagonal, Iowa, December 11, 1936, the youngest of six children. He grew up in
Ringgold County and graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1955. The son of a tenant farmer, FETTY graduated from
Southern College of Optometry in 1960 with a Doctors' Degree of Optometry. The father of four sons, Jack and his wife, Mary,
current reside in Clive, Iowa, after the author's retirement from practicing optometry for 33 years in Vinton, Iowa.
Jack wrote Rings of Gold, a book containing Ringgold County success stories of men and women, spanning eight
decades, in 2007.

Late word has been received that the [Mount Ayr Public] library will host author Jack Fetty from 11 a.m.
to 2 p.m. [during Ayr Days] for a signing of his newest book, "Wind Spirit." He has also written "Rings of Gold: Successes from Ringgold County" and "Muddy Creek."
