Ringgold Record Mount Ayr, Ringgold County, Iowa 1898
COUNCILMAN CLYDE DUNNING.
Perhaps no man of the same age occupies so large a place in Ringgold county affairs as does Clyde DUNNING. Born in
September, 1871, he has been familiar with banking operations ever since he could reach a desk, and since early in
1892 has been cashier of the Citizens bank. He is now serving his third term as secretary of the county fair association.
During his second term the most successful agricultural exhibition inthe history of the county was given. He was
elected member of the city council in March, 1895. Although on the minority ticket and the youngest of the four
candidates, he received more votes than any other candidate for the same office. He is a prominent figure in musical circles,
being a member of the band and mandolin club. Mr. DUNNING was married in 1893 to Miss Alice Gertrude MANSON. Fortune has
certainly smiled on this happy union, Mr. and Mrs. DUNNING being leaders not only in society circles, but in church as well,
where Mr. DUNNING's musical qualities find excellent display in both church and Sabbath school choirs. He is also
quite prominently identified with secret societies, being excellent banker of the largest camp of Modern Woodmen of America
in the county.
