The meat market firm of CROUT and HUFFMAN, composed of M. W. CROUT and Daniel HUFFMAN [illegible]. Mr. CROUT had been conducting the shop alone since the 5th of the month, at which time he bought Code HETZEL'S half-interest. For two years and four months Mr. HETZEL was in business here, and at different periods during that time both J. C. SALTZMAN and N. C. GERMAN were associated with him. The firm during all this time has kept up its reputation for the excellence of the meats, fresh and cured, fish, etc., which it furnishes patrons, and the present proprietors are not lacking any regard.

NOTE: Daniel B. HUFFMAN was born February 1, 1846, and died July 31, 1915, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, Iowa. Conrad "Code" HETZEL was born in 1866, and died in 1963 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr.
