EDWIN BENNETT
Edwin BENNETT, who during over a quarter century's residence on his Benton township farm, has made himself one of the
leading horticulturists of this section. There probably is a larger variety of large and small fruits on his farm than on
any other farm in the county. Mr. BENNETT was born at Freeport, Me., Aug. 8, 1844. In his 13th year he went with his
parents to Henry county, Ill. He first saw Ringgold county in 1866. Two years later he purchased his present farm, and
in 1870 settled theron, after his marriage to Miss Charity L. MARSHALL, the daughter of an early settler. Mr.
BENNETT is a notary public, justice of the peace, school sub-director and secretary of the township school board.
