What was added in 2014?


November 28, 2014: Added an additional transcription and a history of Lincoln Center/Township Cemetery. Many thanks to Carolyn DeLay and Mary Hoegh for sharing their work with IAGenweb!

November 21, 2014: Added transcription of a business letter from J. E. Boyle, salesman for the Peerless Bread Machine Company, written on Hotel Cardio letterhead.

November 20, 2014: Added transcription of Judd Cemetery. Thanks again to Carolyn DeLay and Mary Hoegh for walking and recording the cemetery and sharing with IAGenweb!

November 11, 2014: Added complete transcriptions of the S and T surname sections from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881. The City of Atlantic section (pages 15-70) of the General Directory is now complete. Also added transcription of Cass County Post Office history 1883-1986.

Iowagravestones update - nearly 100 addition gravestone photos from Evergreen Cemetery have been uploaded in the past three weeks. Work to gradually upload photos from Atlantic Cemetery, Evergreen and Wiota Jameson will continue.

October 21, 2014: Added complete transcriptions of M and N surname sections from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881.

October 20, 2014: Added transcriptions of the biography of James B. Bruff, transcribed from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

October 16, 2014: Added complete transcription of P surname section from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881 and updated the Lookups page. Iowagravestones update - approximately 100 gravestone photos from Atlantic Cemetery and Evergreen Cemetery have been uploaded in the past two weeks. October 2, 2014: Added complete transcriptions of C and K surname sections from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881.

October 1, 2014: Added complete transcriptions of J and L surname sections from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881.

September 29, 2014: Added transcriptions of the third and fourth pages from the 1856 State Census for Cass Township. Thanks again to Sandy Mullins for transcribing these pages for Cass County!

September 24, 2014: Added transcriptions of the first two pages from the 1856 State Census for Cass Township. Many thanks to Sandy Mullins for this great addition! Keep checking back - two additional pages have already been transcribed and should be online soon!

September 18, 2014: Added new complete transcription of Wiota Jameson Cemetery. Also added a new transcription of the eastern (older) half of Oakwood a.k.a. Lewis Cemetery. September 17, 2014: Added Cass County entries from the 1920 Who's Who in Iowa. Many thanks to Lynn Diemer for this wonderful new contribution!

September 10, 2014: Added complete transcriptions of A and F surname sections from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881.

September 9, 2014: Added complete transcriptions of D, O and R surname sections from the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881.

September 8, 2014: Added partial transcription of the Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881. The directory is organized alphabetically by surname. The E, G, I, U, V, Y and Z sections have been completely transcribed.

September 7, 2014: Added transcriptions the first three sections from the General Directory of the City of Atlantic 1880-1881. Two of these sections provide historical background and details, and the last documents business address changes due to a disasterous fire that occurred just after the directory had been completed and was already with the printer.

September 6, 2014: Added transcriptions of the table of contents and index of advertisers from the Cass County, Iowa Farmers' Institute 1894, Bulletin No. 1, as well as the Benefits, Historical, List of Members and Constitution and By-Laws sections.

September 4, 2014:  Updated the Cass County Genealogical Society page to reflect several changes in officers and to add their Fall 2014 Newsletter.

September 1, 2014: Added birdseye view photo postcard of Atlantic, looking northwest from the courthouse dome, and showing the Atlantic Canning Factory in the distance.

August 24, 2014: Added transcription of Cass County entries from a statewide brochure, List of Losses by the Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Association of Iowa for the Year 1903.

August 19, 2014: Added the last remaining sections from Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County, including Statistics from 1869 and 1874 and the final index. The book has been fully transcribed.

August 18, 2014: Added "Gleanings From Board of Supervisors' Record," from Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County, as well as transcriptions of the cover page and advertisements.

August 17, 2014: Added biography of Lafe Young; the biographies from the 1877 History of Cass County are now complete. Also added several more sections from Lafe Young's 1887 History of Cass County. Check back soon! The remaining five untranscribed sections should be online by the end of the week!

August 15, 2014: Added numerous additional selections from Lafe Young's 1887 History of Cass County.

August 4-5, 2014: Added Holt family entries(Contact - Sandy Mullins) to the Surname Migrations and Surname Registry pages.

July 25, 2014: Added info about two additional patents filed by Louis Bornholdt, one for a Compression Tester and the other for a Pump.

July 15, 2014: Added vintage photo of Louis and Ada Bornholdt, along with info regarding Louis' 1925 Air Moistener patent.

June 25, 2014: Added biographies of Dr. Elverton E. and Charles W. Major, transcribed from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

June 24, 2014: Added biographies of Lars S. Olsen, and Ole J. Ostrus, transcribed from the 1906 Compendium of History and Biography.

April 27, 2014: Added transcriptions of two more sections from Lafe Young's 1877 History of Cass County Together with Brief Mention of Old Settlers (Organization of the County, Prices at Various Times).
