I am searching for any data pertaining to Henry, Martha "Patsey" Leonard(parents), Children; Harrod, John, James, Alfred, Mary,& Ellen Leonard that lived in Jefferson County through the 1780's.
Mahala Leonard married James Buchanan in Indiana before going to Jefferson Co, Iowa. She and her children are no longer found after 1870 living near Henry, her father. Where did they disappear to??
Patsey died in the 1860's. We don't have any further dates on her. Henry died 1876 and is supposedly buried in Greenwood Cem. Fairfield.
Alfred, his son, is noted as purchasing a Cem. plot in Greenwood cem around that time.
Did they not keep any records of who was buried in what plot in those cemeteries?? I would think that there was some type of record kept because how would one know if they were purchasing a plot where someone else was already buried????
There are records somewhere! Anyone have any suggestions??
