The Iowa Death Index, 1900 - 1939 shows: Henry Borcherding, 11 July 1869 / 28 Jan 1932, mothers maiden name as Kregel.

In Henry Borcherding's obit it mentions his brother and sister, Fred/Frederick and Chiistina/Christine.

The Iowa Marriage Index, 1809 - 1992, shows:

09 Apr. 1912, in Guttenberg, George W. Kishmann, birth shown only as Luana, to Christine Borcherding, birth shown as 1888 at Guttenberg, daughter of Henry Borcherding and Louise Kregel.

06 June 1917, in Grand Meadow Twp., Frederick Borcherding, birth shown as Guttenberg, son of Henry Borcherding and Louise Kregel, to Emelie E. Kugel, birth shown as 1886 in Grand Meadow Twp.

These three records showing their mother's maiden name as Kregel appears to confirm your records.

As for the proper spelling of Henry's wife's maiden name, clearly shown in the obit of Ida L. Borcherding 1880 - 1961, as Meyer, I have no further info.
