Some of my relatives also came from the same area as you have mentioned..Their surname would be Shuff. William Shuff Sr. was born 1812. In 1833 they were living in Monongalia Co. VA. In 1852 or 53 they came westward to Allamakee Co., Iowa, and settled on a government claim 2 miles east of Rossville at the crossroads to Waterville and the Big Foot road. They had 9 children and experienced the hardships of pioneer life. Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery, near the family's pioneer home. One of his daughters became my Great grandmother Brooks.
And one of her grandsons married an Mcshane from your line.
