John F. Salsbury Born Jan. 10, 1821 Died May 4, 1863
John Friend Salsbury, son of Howard Salsbury and Rebecca Pratt, was born Jan. 10, 1821 in Tinmouth, Rutland Co., Vermont and died May 4, 1863 in Helena, Phillips Co. Arkansas. He married Mary Ann DeWolf in 1846 in Erie Co., Pennsylvania. He enlisted in Co. F, 29th Iowa Volunteer Infantry Aug. 9, 1862 and died of typhoid fever May 5, 1863 in Helena, Phillips Co., Arkansas. He is buried in Memphis National Cemetery, Memphis, Shelby Co., Tennessee.
