Our oldest
son gave us our first
computer. He thought I would
love getting on the internet
and looking for our family
roots. He was right.
I went to the Scott county
site and offered to help.
Cathy LaBath "hired" me. I
type whole volumes, but the
bio's are my favorite. I
love to read about the real
people from the past. We had
so much information left
over that did not pertain to
Scott County that Cathy,
Elaine and I started the
Iowa History site in 2002.
We have 4 bio kids with 13
grandchildren. Most are
interested in our family
history. I have been married
to Barry for 42 years.
During that time many kids
have lived with us that did
not belong to us. We went
into the foster program 12
years ago and added 8 more
to that list.

My husband was in the
service for 20 years. After retirement we moved to the
family farm and started to
have hog roasts. I found
that cooking for a crowd was
easy for me. I never wanted
to do it for money. Barry
and I were on the Catholic
Charities Advisory Board and
I quickly became their
private caterer. Now I am
starting to cook for the
American Legion.
Cooking for our Iowa
group is going to be so much fun. I just
want to keep adding to the menu so Lynn
is trying to keep me in toe ...
