In 1880 only Robert Payne left Monroe County to work in Lucas Co. He left his wife and sons at home, but I have not been able to find his wife Mary or son's George and David in the 1880 census anywhere. They are not with any relatives I know. The family continued living in Monroe County Iowa until 1905 when they immigrated to Saskatchewan. I believe there may be another child listed in the 1880 census and grown by the time they were listed again in the 1900 Iowa and 1905 Canada census. Mary was the daughter of Thomas J and Martha Evans who lived in Guilford from 1852 to 1880- I assume they died in Guilford but have not found any record of their death or burial.
