I am looking for any information on Cpt. Robert C. PAYNE b. 1834 in PA who married Mary A. EVANS b 1838 in Wales. They lived in Albia in 1900 and their sons David and George were born in Iowa in 1879 and 1873. Robert is listed in the 1885 special Iowa census of ex-soldiers, sailors and marines living in Tyrone. I have found Robert in the 1880 census living with a WILLIAMS family in Cleveland born of Wales and he lists married but I cannot find Mary, George or David and any other children they may have had in the 1880 census. The WILLIAMS family Robert was living with in 1880 has two children living with Robert and Mary in 1900 and they are listed as nephew and neice. More likely they are Mary Evans Payne's family. Their son George P. PAYNE married Margueritte/Margaret LOWDEN in 1896 in Monroe County and son David Millard PAYNE married Clara LEE. If you have any connection or information I would very much appreciate it.
