Current documents have been found showing that James H. Lee was born May 3, 1831, the son of Moses Lee and Elizabeth Terrill. James came from McLean County, Illinois where he married Hanna Smith in 1858. Their daughter, Susan, who married Walter Lippincott, was an older sister to Harvey, the youngest son of James and Hannah, born in 1882. James died Mar 15, 1910 and is buried in the IOOF Cemetery in Indianola, Iowa along with his wife, Hannah, and several other children.

More Information on Oliver P. Lewin is listed below from the Web site entitled “ Lewins in the Civil War” - Oliver Perry Lewin b. 13 July 1836, a son of John Almer, Sr. and Salome (Clutter) Lewin. He enlisted in the 10th Iowa Infantry, Company G. Oliver was killed in battle at Roan's Tan Yard, Rudolph County, MO on 8 January 1862. Oliver is buried in the National Cemetery in Mound City, IL Section C Grave 2900.

Post 116 Personal Reminiscences, page 13: Lough, Jacob F. – his most intimate friends were G.F. McDaniel, Jesse Cole, Noah Sipe, Jas. K. Cole, Wm. Murdock. Saddest experience of his army life was the killing by accident of his bunk mate James K. Cole on camp duty. When President Lincoln was shot the Regiment was at Hagerstown, Maryland and was sent to Washington, D.C. to do patrol duty and remained until mustered out. Comrade Lough was taken sick with White swelling in right leg and was sent home for treatment, and being absent and unfit for duty one of the Company Corporals was made Sergeant in his place – not owning to any fault.
