Class of 1982 golf tournament raises funds for local projects

When the class of 1982 held its class reunion in Mount Ayr in July, they held a golf tournament at the Mount Ayr Golf and Country Club to raise funds for local projects.

Scott GILES said the group hope that this effort will be a challenge for other classes to contribute to Mount Ayr when they hold their class reunions in the future.

The four-person bestball tournament raised $1,200 for the charitable giving of the class. Half of the funds were contributed to the fund-raising efforts for Lucky Lanes bowing alley and the rest will go to the Mount Ayr Comnunity high school athletic fund.
