W. E. KELLEY, prominent Middle Fork township farmer, was re-elected president of the Ringgold County Farm Bureau during the annual meeting of that organization. Other officers elected were Loren IBBOTSON of Tingley, vice president; Duane TRIGGS of Mount Ayr, secretary; and Charles BASTOW of Mount Ayr, treasurer.

Mr. and Mrs. Doyle ANDREW, cancer fund-raising chairman and county chairmen, represented the Ringgold county Chapter of the American Cancer Society at the annual state convention held Sunday in Des Moines. Jack SPEVAK, M.D., of Des Moines, in the absence of former U.S. Senator Guy M. GILLETTE, state campaign chairman, gave the report of the educational and fund raising crusade, which read, in part, as follows: "Of the chapters exceeding their assigned goals, Ringgold, with Mr. and Mrs. Doyle ANDREW at the helm, topped all records by reaching 169.82 percent of the 1959 goal."

Burl STEDMAN of Redding suffered fractures of both bones in his right leg between the knee and ankle Monday afernoon in a corn picking accident. STEDMAN and C. L. GARRETT had just started to pick corn when the accident happened on the GEIGER farm, one-half mile north of Delphos, which is operated by Mr. STEDMAN. GARRETT started the tractor in motion and as STEDMAN observed the operation of the machine, the wagon skidded, knocked him to the ground and ran over his leg.

Ira J. CAMPBELL was elected commissioner of the Ringgold Soil Conservation District at a meeting held Monday night. Mr. CAMPBELL succeeds Cecil SICKELS. Other commissioners are Ralph LONG of Mount Ayr, chairman, and Lloyd GOINS of Diagonal.

Barbara BARKER of Benton and Raymond SHIELDS of Tingley are Ringgold county 4-H members to be honored on the KSIB 4-H Record Book Award Program scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 31. Barbara, a member of the Rainbow Girls 4-H club, is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence BARKER. Raymond belongs to the Tingley Toppers and his parents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell SHIELDS.
